What is Android One?

Google launched its ‘Android One’ platform in India on September 15, targeting the low-end smartphone segment in emerging markets.

While newly launched phones are currently available in India, the company plans to roll them out to other developing countries like Indonesia, Philippines, Bangladesh, Nepal, Pakistan and SriLanka in the coming months.

The wide launch strategy of ‘Android One’ sends strong signal that it would like to acquire the smartphone industry in developing countries.

That’s really happy news for Android developers and Android users as the market segment of Android will reach record high in next couple of years.

What is Android One?

‘Android One’ is a reference OS platform targeted for low cost Android devices, device manufacturers can come forward and design their devices according to the specifications set by Google for ‘Android One’ platform.

Google ensures that even low-end devices can run its Android software and run it well, providing everyone with a uniformly decent experience.

To sum up its features, service offers it provides and details about list of phones (enabled with ‘Android One’ platform) launched in India so far, I created an awesome video.
